copy paste places objects in a non zero elevation

every time that i use the copy & paste command
i insert the block at a normal zero elevation
after i explode it, it is allways placed at a -4.86 z elevation

help!!!
does anyone know why and how do i fix it?

There is a system variable called ELEVATION which might do this if it were
nonzero in either the source or destination drawing.
