bonus commands

How do I import or use the bonus commands from AutoCAD 14 with AutoCAD 2000?

You don´t.
Bonus tools ended at r14.
Express Tools are now their substitute. They were shiped in your AutoCAD
2000 CD.
Or you can buy the latest Express Tools at
http://www.autodesk.com/estore/usa/index.htm

Hello Francisco -

How do I migrate my Express Tools to A2Ki from A2K?

Thanks

Actually, Ed, you can bring in your bonus tools if you still have a copy of r14
around. Copy over your "ac_bonus.lsp" file....while you're at it, grab the
"alias.exe" and "alias.hlp" files too, as acad2k has eliminated those as well.
Put these files in your acad2k "support" directory. Then, in acad2k get to the
applications manager box (command is "ap"). In the startup suite, load
"ac_bonus.lsp" and this will allow you to have all of your favorite bonus
commands loaded each and every time.

Enjoy!

Aaron:
I shouldn't have been so afirmative, sorry.
But why should you use the bonus tools if you now have Express? Are there
any discountinued commands or whatsoever?
I think that people who ask how to install r14 Bonus Tools in 2000 most
probably don´t know that they were improved in 2000's Express Tools (IMHO).
BTW, I think you meant "applications manager box (command is "app")"

Aren't the "Express Tools" just for the Acad2000i users? I'm using straight up
ACAD2k, and I'm not familiar with the "express tools". If you're talking about
the new "change props" VBA box, I find it more inconvenient to use than the old
"change props" box...imho.

Nevermind...I've got the express tools too....just a brain fart there. But to
answer your question, there are a few MAJOR commands that have been removed:
exchprop, aliasedit, extrim, mocoro, and what's up with them getting rid of the
"turn off layer in current viewport" from the layer pull-down....that really
burns me!

Wrong!
- exchprop is replaced by the Properties command
- alisasedit and extrim are improved
- mocoro is still here

and the "turn off layer in current viewport"-symbol is here again in the
layer pull-down in A2Ki.

I have tryed this and it doesn't work. Only the layer bonus commands work. The ac_bonus.lsp and the bnslayer.lsp both have to be loaded into the start up suite. Do your other bonus commands work? And the Express Tools have to be purchased, correct? I read in the manual that you can download them and when I went to the site I found the download but you have to buy it. Is there something I'm missing?

I'm working in acad2k and I cannot see these commands that you say are there, the
ones that I listed below. Without the bonus tools from r14, I do not have aliasedit,
extrim, mocoro....and I do not like the new properties box in acad2k, and acad2k does
not offer an alternative box such as the "exchprop" in r14. Perhaps acad2ki has
remedied these...

Acad2k comes with Express tools. They may be more that you have to
purchase, but I'm not sure about that. If you open your ac_bonus.lsp
file, you will be able to see all of the commands that this lisp file
has. One of them is exchprop, which is the properties dialog box from
r14. If your ac_bonus.lsp file is loading correctly, all of these
commands should work for you.

May be you didn't install the complete Express Tools Vol. 1-9.

I believe you have to purchase the Express Tools Vol. 1-9, which is a pretty bogus way to
get additional autocad commands that were standard in R14!

Well, NOW you have to pay for it. But in the autumn of the last year you
could download it for free from autodesks website.
