What is Fuzz Distance??

Within the multiple option of the pedit command it asks for the Fuzz Distance. Normally I just enter and skip it, but I am curious to know what it means, or what it is used for.

Thanks Matt

Matt,

Hitting F1 (Help) and using the Ask Me tab.... putting in Fuzz Distance

PEDIT's Joined Polyline Segments
You can join a line, an arc, or another polyline to an open polyline if
their ends connect or are close to each other. If the ends are not
coincident but are within a distance that you can set, called the fuzz
distance, the ends are joined by either trimming them, extending them,
or connecting them with a new segment.

For example, you want to join lines
into PLINES, but the endpoints don't
match. FUZZ DISTANCE is a distance
you can input to say join any lines
whose endpoints are this (FUZZ) far
apart.

I'm more familiar with the term "fudge factor", as in the expression: "If
you don't have the dimensions, just fudge them".

TAKE NOTE...

An overlapping plane will not always
trim, it may add a line segment.

I don't know if this is just an error
with my setup but it has frustrated me with a few drawings...
