My office is about to upgrade to 2002. We are also about to purchase a
couple of new workstations. The debate is over the Pentium 4 1600 or the
AMD Thunderbird 1400 (which is like a P4 1800). What I would like to find
out is whether ACAD 2002 has been optimized to run under the Pentium 4 or
not. I know that 3D Studio Max R4 was configured to run optimally on the
Pentium chip. Any input about this would be great. Thanks in advance.

I would definitely go with the Athlon XP. It's less expensive, the memory is less expensive, and it continually beats faster clocked P4s. Besides, the P4s have some MAJOR design flaws.
Cadalyst's December workstation review pits Intel's Pentium 4 processor
against AMD's Athlon chip. Find out which one provides better
performance for CAD:
