MasterCAM X files to AutoCAD 2002?

Hi all,

I'm making some fixtures to fit parts that I have in MasterCAM files (version 10 if it matters).  MasterCAM allows you to save as a .dwg or .dfx, however AutoCAD 2002 gives me the following error when trying to open them:

Unknown value "AC1021" encountered in drawing version.
Invalid or incomplete DXF input -- drawing discarded.

My understanding is that the file is for 2007/08/09 versions of AutoCAD.

I've tried one suggestion of opening it in MS Word and converting, saving as a .txt, converting, then renaming the file extension back to .dxf to no avail.  Any other suggestions short of upgrading to a 2007 or newer version of AutoCAD?

Thanks!

Thanks.  I didn't realize I could back-convert to 2000 with the Viewer.
