Is there a way to find out WHO has a file open?

Using ADLM w/ Acad 2000 on Win2k server. The operating systems vary from 95
to win2k (and everything in between). I don't want to use "open by" because
it is only good for administrators. I can, for example, open an excel
spreadsheet, and it will tell me who is modifying the document. Can the
same thing be done here?

Thanks in advance.

Have everyone running the 'whohas.arx' file, then when using 'whohas' you
can identify the user.

I think you already know this but in win2k you can right-click My Computer >
Manage > Shared Folders > Open Files to see who has which files open.

Appreciate the quick response, but I'm looking for something local to the
user. I'll give whohas.arx a shot.

I'll try

you need to load the whohas.arx on each station... try putting it in the
start up suite under the appload command..

Yeah, that seemed to work. Just one catch to the program, though: The user
MUST save after opening, otherwise it doesn't seem to work. Seems like
there's always a catch 🙂

Thanks again.
