DDE Server Window: acad.exe Application Error

Hi,

I am running AutoCAD 2002 on WinXP Pro and when the program is closed an
alert window pops up titled

DDE Server Window: acad.exe Application Error

In the dialog the message is

The instruction at referenced memory at
address 2>. The memory could not be "written".

This alert pops up twice and has to be closed with the OK button.

and are the same on each occasion,
but different in the dialog (if you get what I mean).

I have assigned myself administrator privileges and occurs even when I
logon as Owner.

AutoCAD itself runs without any problems.

I have applied the only service pack for 2002, although this happened
before that.

To make sure this was not a physical memory problem I ran a memory test
program MemTest-86 on the system and after 1+ hour of tests, there were
no errors reported.

The system is a Pentium M, 1.4 GHz, 60 GB HDD, 1 GB RAM.

I have checked the Autodesk knowledgebase but no information is
available.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Not one to leave things alone I decided to keep fiddling until I found
out what was causing the problem.

It turns out that the error is being caused by the use of the Double
Click Properties Express Tool. If I turn it on, I get the error on
exit. If I turn it off, no error on exit.

Hopefully it will save someone else's precious hair knowing this!

So it is back to Ctrl+1 to toggle the display on and off.
