Architectural scales on Viewports

Does anyone knows how to scale a viewport at architeturla scale??

I usually zoom in to my viewport 1/40xp and I have my 1"=40'

but how about doing 3/4"=1'

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

Francisco

Scale factor for 3/4" is 16, so 1/16xp

The easiest way is to use the drop down in the viewports toolbar. It has
choices like 3/4" = 1'-0" and all the standard scales.

actually, 1/40xp gives you a scale of 1'=40' (1"=40' would be 1/480xp.)

sorry, that should be 1"=40" for architectural (or, more accurately, 1 unit = 40 units.)

To figure a scale factor, it's the right side (1'-0" or 12") divided by the
left side.
12" div. by 1/4" = 48 for 1/4"=1'-0" etc.

Bravo!
Someone pointed out the 1' should be converted to inches before calculating!

In our menu, we set the scale before Anything is done--- a drop down offers
the selections.

In the table below, scale of x" = 1' has a scale factor = y

X Y X Y
1/2 24 3/8 32
1/4 48 3/16 64
1/8 96 3/32 128
1/16 192 1/32 384

to scale a viewport accordingly, do command: Zoom 1/Yxp

These factors are used (automatically in our case) to set up ltscale, text
and dimension proportions.

Just change to metric, much easier 🙂

Had to work in imperial in a tutorial, don't know how you "inch'ies" cope
with all those fractional lengths etc, yuk!
