Hi, I imported a fbx skeleton into Maya, and although a smooth skin bind can be applied to it, the Paint skin tool appears to be disabled. The red circular brush appears with a big X on it, and the list of influences on the Tool Settings window lists the bones with no colors and lock/unlock disabled.
Basically it's imposible to edit the skin with this tool.
It's there a way to fix this (Maya 2012). The skeleton was created originally in Maya (HIK) but had to fix joint orient wierdness in Max (otherwise the Maya generated skeleton will twist the Hips and Shoulders once I create the control rig in Mobu).
