Linking Block attributes to a table

We are looking for answers to our facility management needs. We manage numerous properties. Each one of our properties has Rentable space, Floor apportioned space (common areas of a floor that are allocated pro-rata to the individual tenants of the floor), Building apportioned space (common areas of the building that are allocated pro-rata to the individual tenants of the entire building). We would like to have "intelligent" bounding polylines around the boundary of the rooms. These polylines need to send their area values to a text block that sits inside this closed polyline. This text block will have attributes such as: Room Number, Tenant Name, Cost Code, Usable Square Feet (area of the bounding polyline), Building apportioned Square feet (the pro-rated amount of Square feet assigned to this room), Floor apportioned Square Feet. Now that we have the Block Attributes populated with this required info.....we'd like to link this info to a table in the corner of the titleblock. We'd like this linked table to be updated on demand (not necessarily in real time). I know that block attributes can be exported to .mdb, xls, txt, cvs,......but we need to have the bounding polyline send it's area info to the block.....and then the block send it's info to the linked table...........Terry Dotson, If you're out there, Will your "Live Text" do this?

Sounds like you need AutoCAD Map and some
training.  Although there are some custom routines you need to build to no
some of the things you describe.
