so....... i am trying to make a beserk sword i textured it in substance painter but i when i export i get multiple maps see photo does any one know how to apply these so my model in 3ds max?

Hi,
Max doesn't do metal/rough exactly as you see in Painter but you can get close. Delete those maps - go back to Painter and export using the Vray preset. This will convert your materials into maps Max can use. Best to export as 16bit tiff. Then use Arch & Design material - going by memory only here but...
difuse (or base color) into difuse,
glossy into Reflection Glossiness Map,
IOR into IOR Map
Bump into Normal Bump - then your normal and height into that
I've had good luck with the metal/rough materials using the new Physical Material and the ART renderer as a pbr flow.
Search for non pbr - for more info
This is a good tutorial for the non PBR flow - it uses Vray but can be converted for Mental Ray as it non PBR
