mental ray multiscatter rendering problem

Hi,

When I render a billboard of a tree ( has an opacity channel ) through multiscatter in mental ray ,  the image appears mostly transparent ( see attached image ). The opacity channel is set to 100%. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @mhouse777s,

Could you provide the Max file so I may take a look at it and see what might be happening there?

Thanks so much!

Thanks Dominique.

When you render the scene you'll see the foreground tree's themselves are transparent. I put the original billboard tree to the right for comparison( not transparent) . Once the billboard is duplicated by multiscatter it becomes see through for some reason.

Thanks.

Hello @mhouse777s,

Dominique, Jon Bell, and I have been looking at this scene for a bit now from a 3ds Max perspective and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong here about the Max scene itself.  Sadly, there is no demo version of multiscatter that I can find so I've been unable to test it on the multiscatter level.  However I did come across the forums for this plugin and perhaps you can get more directed help there.  It may be that the plugin simply needs to be updated.  Thank you for your understanding.

Best Regards,

Thanks,

The developers of multiscatter found the bug that was causing it and sent me a fixed dll. All is good now. Thanks for your efforts.
