Viewport menu disapeared??

So my girlfriend is learning Max and she came across this. She didnt know that there should be a viewport menu, the one where you select the front, side, etc.. view, shading type, etc...

Anyone know how to enable that? We tried already reseting 3D Max settings deleting the ENU folder inside of "C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2013 - 64bit\ENU".

She is using a laptop Asus with an i3, 4GB RAM and a nvidia 520. I know isnt a so powerful hardware but 3D Max even worked fine with my Pentium 4 2.8Ghz, 2GB of RAM and an old nvidia 6600GT so this shouldnt be a real problem at time to at least display these settings properly there.

Thanks in advanced!

Try changing the Viewport Driver.
Customise > Preferences > Viewports (tab) > Choose Driver (at the bottom of the dialog).

Max 2016 (SP1/EXT1)
Win7Pro x64 (SP1). i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX11.
nVidia GTX760 (2GB) (Driver 430.86).

Thanks, changing viewport to DX mode worked perfectly.
Its a shame that this bug is still there tho... even after installing all updates 😕
