viewport layout tab disappearing

hi,

   Anyone else have an issue with the viewport layout tab disappearing when 3ds max 2016 is loaded?  Even if a start a new scene, dock the layout tab to the left hand side and save, after reloading the layout tab has disappeared.

Yes, I have this issue too : I never see the viewport layout tabs.

Sorry for the issue. It is related to the Ribbon option being active in the Workspace settings. If you don't need to change ribbons with your workspaces, you can simply uncheck the Ribbon setting, then when you dock the Viewport Layout Tabs and it saves upon reopening. See attached images.

Thank you. Disabling the ribbon then reloading my custom workspace solved the issue : I can now display the viewport layout tabs.

Will this issue be solved in the next service pack ?

Glad it worked! As far as an SP fix, sorry, but I can't say one way or the other. 😉
