material reflecting

Is there a way to keep the terrain from reflecting onto a building? I am using the standard ground material and it is making my building turn green. I cant find anywhere in the material that allows you to turn off reflectivity.

Right click your terrain object and choose "Object Properties..."

On the "General" tab,uncheck "Visible to Reflection/Refraction".

I am wondering, if your building is supposed to be reflective, why don't you want it to reflect what is in the scene? Just curious.

Valen, the material that i have is limestone color but the terrain and background maps make my stone turn from limestone color to pale green. I already tried turning that off but it doesnt seem to make any difference. I am open for anyother suggestions you might have.

Assuming mental ray renderer.

Go to the Render Setup dialog, Indirect Illumination tab, and check Use Falloff (Limits Ray Distance).

In the illustration, the left render is with the Use Falloff not active.
The middle render is with it active and the Start at 0' and Stop at 1'
The right render is with it active and the Start at 0' and the Stop at 10'

The Box is 2'x2'x10'

John, which renderer are you using ??
if it is the v-ray u just right click on the ground and click v-ray properties just turn off the generate GI and recieve GI or one of them i think the generate GI and it will work.
