How to add colour to object

Untitled.png

When i add an object, it does not become solid with green colour(default) and cannot modify colour or gradient etc...

How do i make the object become solid instead of only vertices ??

Look to your object properties (right click with selected object -> Object Properties) and look for Display Properties section. Seems like you have checked option "Display as Box".

.... or you're having a graphic card problem. What card do you use? Have you tried updating the driver? Have you tried changing Max to another display-driver, like "Direct 3d" or "Nitrous dx9"?

If you don't have a graphics card then you're using an onboard chipset which are rarely good enough for Max. Please check that your machine meets the System Requirements and follow the link to the Graphics hardware and fill in the details.

Max 2016 (SP1/EXT1)
Win7Pro x64 (SP1). i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX11.
nVidia GTX760 (2GB) (Driver 430.86).

In the list of recommended graphics, they have intel hd 4000 which is integrated.

Then is this a bug in the prg , do i need to reinstall ??

No, they don't. They have HD P4000 and HD P4600/P4700 - they do NOT have the plain HD4000.
The HD4000 is useless for Max. There are probably hundreds of threads here where the HD4000 has been the cause of the problems. Reinistalling will not fix anything - you need a proper graphics card.

Ok, thanks. Will install it on my pc(nvidia graphic card) instead of my laptop.
