HELP - Need to convert a 2014 Max file to 2013 to work on.

Is there any way to convert a 2014 Max file to 2013? Any online source that can do this?

Or, could anyone do it for me if you have version 2014?

I have 3DS Max 2014 at work and 3DS Max 2013 at home and need to work on a file that I forgot to save as a 2013 file.

Thanks!!!

Go to the 'File' menu and do a 'Save as..'  Then, at the bottom where it shows the ' Save as type', click on the arrow to the right and it will drop down. You'll now see a list of legacy versions that you can save to.

Difficult if he's not at work. He knows how to do it, just forgot to do so 😉

Max 2013 does have the ability to open a Max 2014 file

This was the situation I was in. I have version 2013 at home, and needed to open a version 2014 file.

Not strictly true though - 2013 cannot open a native 2014 file. The scene has to be saved (in 2014) as a 2013 compatible file before 2013 can load it, which not quite the same as being able to open a 2014 file directly.
At least we can now "save to a previous version" - prior to 2011 (IIRC) it was not possible at all.
