I can't quite get the effect I am looking for. I have a flat plane mapped with a standard reflective material that has a transparency map. I'd like the transparent areas of the map to disappear and not have reflections. I'd also like my lights to be excluded from the reflections. I tried to exclude my light group using the "local exclude" button in the reflection map, but nothing changed. I've also done tests unchecking each box withing the material editor to see where this can be controlled.
Thnaks for your help in advance..!

Thank you for giving me a topic to write about this week on my site 🙂
This should answer your question: Transparency and Reflections .
Hi Shawn,
Thanks for the reply, and for posting the example model on your website - glad I could provide you with a topic..!
How about another topic? Eliminating the reflection from my overhead lights. There are no reflections from the lights in your model, or when I merge my lights into your scene. I am using photometric target sphere lights. Is there a global setting that you are using to controls this?
Thanks,
-Ralph
The way I controlled that in the sample file is in the light's modify tab, under the Advanced Effects, I turned off the Specular option. This is most likely the control you are looking for, unless I misunderstood the question.
