Hi there,
I am new to 3ds Max and have encountered a problem i can't solve using my own initiative.
I have changed the metric system for 3DS max to Metres using unit setup and when i then go into the "Grids and snaps" options and attempt to change the home grids spacing to 0.25M, my home grid almost dissapears unless i zoom in. And if i select the home icon for the angle i wish to view my modelling at, it zoom's right the way out to a tiny scale. By default it is set to 10M.
What i am trying to do is change the Home grid spacing whilst keeping the grid spacing looking to the same scale in all my preview windows.
Here are two screenshots to try and show what my issue is:
1) http://gyazo.com/81cbb914a27bbff668110b03b9d87a8b - After entering the grid size, the home grid is very small.
Any help would be much appreciated, I'm sure there is a simple solution.
Thanks!
Thanks for the reply. This does solve the issue to an extent but however in order to get my grid's sizing to 1m i still have to zoom in a considerable, and when i click the 'Home' icon within the top right of the window preview i am still scaled out.
I am after a fix whereby each grid represents 0.25m and even when selecting the home icon and being returned to the default window angle, it returns so that the grids are 0.25m wide each. I am currently being scaled out so each cube withion the grid represents 4 metres.
OK. Just a few things.
1 - Regarding Units: Be sure that you have set both "Display Units" and "System Units" to meter.
2 - Regarding "Default window angle": Zoom in til your satisfied with the grid appearence, right click on the "Home" symbol and click "Set current view as Home".
That should do it. Hope it helps.
