3dsmax freezing problem

I use 3dsmax and Autodesk Revit.I export and import bewteen this two softwares.however My computer doesn't work properly for this.It freezes when I import revit files to 3dsmax.I will build a desktop computer and ı will buy a nvdia quadro k2000 graphic card.But ı am not sure if it will be ok.Do you have any suggestions.?

I've had this problem in the past, too.

You're most likely trying to import too much data at one time - the import will complete, it will just take a long time.  Rather than import the entire file at once, try to break up your import to multiple files?
