3ds max adapter error : Error server config file does not exist

What does this error mean? This happens randomly on jobs to random machines only at the beginning of a job.

Backburner error:

Adapter returned unexpected code -2
3ds max adapter error : Error server config file does not exist

Edit: I removed the other error messages from this post as it had to do with memory. But I have no clue what the missing config file means. Anyone?
