I just download the trial of 3ds max 2015, and try to install it on my server 2008 machine, but it keept giving me error saying it does not suppot my Operating System. Is this true has autodesk stop support for installing 3ds max on server Operating System?

Not quite. They stopped supporting it on Vista - and Server 2008 is based on Vista...

oh thats not good. i have a 2008 server running final render for distributed render, with 16 cores so now that i cant use max on server 2008 i am down a machine to help with renders.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Could you upgrade to 2008 R2 which is basically Win7 Server, or Server 2012 (basically win8 Server)?

Yeah i could, but it may be more work to do the upgrade. since i dont just use he server for rendering along. I would have to do a complete new install, and re-create all the settings. If i find i can't do with out the the extra cpu for rendering then I may not have a choice but to upgrade to server 2008 R2.

Time for a spare HDD and an appropriate copy of windows server. And a lot of testing before committing to anything. I'd agree about ugrading (in situ) - I never have and never will - recipe for disaster 😉

Oh so true. But yeah i could try buying a new hard drive, and a copy of server 2008R2. i would look into getting server 2012, but i dont really like working with it.
