Hi Everyone,
I almost lost my hair trying to figure out why Max kept freezing on startup. Well, I found out that it was the Info Center that fails to load on startup. This is a useless feature anyway and here is how to get rid of it!
Just extract/copy the attached script to one of following destinations below:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2014\scripts\Startup
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2015\scripts\Startup
Might work on older versions of Max too; however, I have not tested.
Hi All, I just installed max 2017 and still had this problem. Confirmed that it is COMMUNICATIONS CENTRE causing the problem. I just went into the dish icon settings and set it to check for updates NEVER. I then restarted the program to check and it started in about 15secs. FIXED.
