2015 Design - SP2 Failed installation

Why am I not surprised?

I have Administrator group policy. Right-click 'Run as administrator...' used.

Mentions 'Program compatibility problem'.

I have downloaded the 2015 Max Design specific file.

Is there an additional installation log that you can check for potential clues?

Hi and thanks for the tip. I created a logging string with regedit and retried the installation. When it failed it made an MSI*.log in %Temp%. It's 18,760kb.

So I copied some important bits out for you:

This seems to be along the similar lines as previous users errors when installing SP1, myself included.

Search for "1603" here - Max, Maya and MayaLT have suffered from this. IIRC lose your firewall and AV while installing (amongst other things).

Error 1603 during installation of Autodesk software
Some Products Failed to Install, Result 1603

If necessary follow the links on those pages as well. (Yes I know they're for Maya but the solutions are common across the products).

Max 2016 (SP1/EXT1)
Win7Pro x64 (SP1). i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX11.
nVidia GTX760 (2GB) (Driver 430.86).
