"3ds Max Error report" message on startup....

Hi everyone !

First of all, I'm french so I appologize for my bad english 😉

My problem is that since I reinstalled Windows 7, everytime I start my 3dsMax, it appears the following message :

Capture.PNG

Then, max doesn't finish its launch.

I have max 2014 but it's the same with the 2013 version.

It worked very well before I reinstall Windows. I have this problem for about 1 week and I'm clueless now T_T

Could you help me resolve this please ?? I really need this software for my studies...

Thanks.

Antoine

P.S. : My computer

- MSI GE70 Laptop

- Intel Core i7

- 8GO Ram

- GeForce GTX 660M

- Windows 7 64b

Hi, I'm Brasilian, so my English isn't good as well...
I have the same problem as you Antoine with 3ds Max 2014 and 2013, but the difference is that my OS is Windows 8. I recycle the win8 and the problem persists. I really don't know what to do... =/

Hi Antoine!
I’ve tryed CCleaner... but nothing changes =/
I think my problem is the OS.
Thank you for the tip! 😉

When you reinstalled Windows did you also reinstall ALL the service updates? It will take a very long time to catch up to all the "updates."

Yes, I did it! Hours and hours waiting for ALL updates... I've installed the 3dsMax 2014 Service Pack, but it still doesn't work.
I think we have a case that can't be solved... =/
I'll put another Windows here. Maybe that will be the solution.
Thanks

Hi,I have the same problom on 3ds max 2010.2011.2012.2013.2014 as well and I don't know what to do, I have tried everything[reinstalling graphics driver,3ds max,OS,now I am using win8 pro x64] .
I think the main problem is the software and not drivers or operating systems.
Thanks in advacne 🙂

For anyone who is still having this issue

This might be the solution as it helped me to solve my Max launch problem:

  • Navigate to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2018\stdplugs, and rename the ProSound.dlc file to ProSound.dlc.BAK.

If this will not work, try any other solutions from here:

I hope this helps.

Have a nice day or night.

Terminate the programs that are :

*Involved in the registry manipulations.

*Keeping logs of your system (viruses included)

*Run as a background process controllers, any software that is keeping your system "clean", Iam using bugged to hell custom made software that is terminating any side processes immediately, with manual conformation of any processes launched.

I had this error on one PC for about two days, and it drove me crazy.

I was rigging some model, when max offed himself with critical error, then I could not launch max for said two days.

Turns out, this soft I was using to keep track of processes and system load, "saved" 3ds max process in the same state it was when the error occurred, and each time I was trying to launch it, it went off with this error on the loop.

I went NUTS, manually going through everything trying to understand what caused this.

Turns out, no matter how sure you are in third party software, it always helps to consider all options, by turning it the hell off.
