mental ray: fatal 041010: database network access failed

I try to render a 20000x15000px image with MR and DBR and get this:

DB 0.1 1268 MB error 041012: attempt to unpin null tag
DB 0.1 1268 MB fatal 041109: runtime exception 0xc0000005: access violation
DB 0.1 1268 MB fatal 041109: runtime exception 0xc0000005: access violation
DB 0.9 1266 MB fatal 041010: database network access failed
MSG 0.0 1266 MB info : aborting rendering
MSG 0.0 1266 MB info : aborting rendering
MSG 0.0 1266 MB info : aborting rendering
MSG 0.0 1266 MB error: A Fatal error occured while rendering with NVIDIA mental ray.

This render will abort. NVIDIA mental ray is now in an unstable state and cannot be used any more for this session.

To render again with NVIDIA mental ray, please restart 3ds Max.

 The error is :
DB 0.9 1266 MB fatal 041010: database network access failed

Hello jens.diemer-

I am sorry to read that you have had an issue with rendering your 20000x15000 px image, but I would be happy to assist.  It appears as though it is steming from a database access issue according to what I am seeing.  Is your computer having connection issues?

Just a thought have you tried rendering with another render engine?  Something like OpenGL?

I will search our databases and see if I get any hits based on the errors you have shown here.

Thanks for your patience.

Hi

How many ram do you have in the main pc and the others?

One thing that you can test is to enable "use place holder" option in processing tab and enable geometry caching.

Good luck.

Richard-

Thank you for the input.

Jens.diemer-

What is your status?

I have 16GB RAM. But i think it was a RAM problem.

In the end i have rendered 20000x15000px using a FG cache file, use placeholder objects and Conserve Memory...

However, max should IMHO raise a better error message than this "database network access failed"

Hello Jens-

Thank you for letting us know your status.  I am happy to read that you were able to render.  I am going log a Improvement Request with our development team about better error reporting for Mental Ray issues.  Do you have any thoughts or comments you would like to add to the request?

Thank you for your time.

Best Regards,

I am having the same problem but checking placeholder objects and conserve memory does not help. Help please!?!
