Error Code 193 with 3ds Max 2014

I recently upgraded from Max 2013 to 2014. I moved my plugins over, specifically the Blur Studios Fire plugin. Now when I start Max I get "Error Loading Plugin DLL, Error Code 193 - %1 is not a valid Win32 application"

I'm using 3ds Max 2014 64bit in Windows 7, and had previously been using 2013 64bit. Any ideas as to why these plugins are suddenly not working?

You can't "move" plugins between versions, you must upgrade those plugins to the match the version of Max - different versions of Max, and the plugins, are created with different versions of the compilers and are therefore not compatible.

Max 2016 (SP1/EXT1)
Win7Pro x64 (SP1). i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX11.
nVidia GTX760 (2GB) (Driver 430.86).

I have the same problem in 3ds max 2015.

from one day to the other, this error appears. Security has more to do with windows that 3ds max but I can not solve.
probe uninstall it and install the 3ds max again but the error persists.
