CCTV (other camera as) texture on a surface

Hi all forum users.

I'm trying to create a live view from a camera as a texture on a surface.

I have no clue how to achieve that.

1. a camera 1 that looks on a target.

2. a camera 2 that looks on a surface that has a texture from the view of camera 1.

ps. I know how to do that in multiple passes. but I am searching for a solution that can do this in one go. it is possible to do this in Unity as far as I understand.

Hi;

You can apply motion pictures as textures to any geometry you'd like.

These "textures" can be video formats, such as .avi, or an image sequence, frame by frame.

Simply add "Bitmap" to your diffuse channel and select the video format or your image sequence (if you choose sequence, please do not forget to click on sequence option in bitmap importing interface - you can find that in bottom left area of the interface).

Regards;

Thank you for your answer.

I realise that I wasn't specific enough in my initial question

I'm aware of the solution you are referring to.

My question, was concerning a solution to a problem where a camera feedback is used as a texture in real-time.

much like 4 Different viewports in max. but instead of a viewport I add it to a texture slot.

It is possible in Unity. but I'm not interested in unity.

Cheers.

saku, there is no way to get a truly 'live' feed from a 3ds Max camera to a texture.  What you'll have to do is render out the CCTV footage first, then apply it to the material that is on your CCTV monitor.
