2015 - A&D material not showing bitmap colour preview...

Hi,

Can someone confirm if this exhibits the same glitch as I get?

Create an Arch & Design material and use a Bitmap into the diffuse node.

The material preview sphere does not show the colour of the Bitmap used.

Bitmap: 1600 x 1200px, 96Dpi, 24bit colour.

Rendering engine: iRay (Colour preview works with Mental Ray).

If the material is applied to an object, the object will render with the correct colour.

It is just the preview in the Slate material Editor which will not show the Bitmap colour.

Exposure control off, gamma globally set to 2.2, bitmap gamma imported as 'automatic'.

See screengrab below.

I made a quick color chart with 4 fields and cropped to the lower right corner (filled with cyan).

The material preview shows red (upper left corner) -> fail.

The viewport shows cyan -> win.

After rotating the bitmap in Photoshop the colors change accordingly.

Then I fiddled around with some black pixels in the upper left field, different croppings, different slot numbers in the compact ME...

Looks quite messed up 🙂

Max2014 works correct btw.

Cheers for the reply.

Yeah, I've tried with simple Red/Green colours.

The preview only seems to have three states, (A&D slate editor, set to render with iRay);

#Shiny black plastic.

#Grainy sand, beige with noise.

#Some sort of flared out white...?

Messed up alright
